my oc cyril and my gf's oc arseny. i made cyril on a whim in september 2025. he's russian and a musician and he smokes. i had the itch to make an emo alt oc so i dumped everything i like into a character design. piercings, bangs, eyebags, gay. i'll write more about his inspiration when i make a character page for him. i came up with this silly scenario (1st img) after my gf made a comment about his perpetual smug look and his manner of speech and i ran with it from there. he's insufferable.
asher. procreate's lasso tool is a nightmare to use. i'd try to draw a selection of a closed shape, then draw a selection of another closed shape, and it still connects them somehow (it's what you see happening in the hair). i can't be bothered to learn how to properly use most of its features lol i gave up when i tried learning how to use the fill bucket tool.
asher as a kid. beginning of january i fleshed out asher and venn's backstories. both pieces are based on two separate oneshots i began to write. i dropped both half way because i couldn't help but think "asher would noooot say that." i'm prone to mischaracterizing my ocs through writing. asher and venn haven't had their own voices except for the occasional oneshot comic so it's easier for them to exist only in illustrations. also, i got hooked on this plain lining brush that i downloaded from a pixel brush set. it's jagged and inspires me to draw messily (more than usual).
nika and lera from flesh blood and concrete. this was a commission! the guts were my favorite part to draw, easily spent half my drawing time on it. i used that same plain lining brush here too.
group ocs (mine, amel, right panel 2nd img). in no world would these four characters ever meet. it's a miracle. i used to make a buuuuunch of group ocs and drew comics like these. i have a soft spot for making these pixel brush grey background comics. if i have an idea and i want to get it down asap, pixel brushes are restrictive in that if i add more details it becomes cluttered and forces me to simplify my sketches. nor is it intuitive to erase, since using the pixel brush itself is too small, and using any other brush messes up the pixel look.
sorin and rias. i used to color their pieces but i've been obsessed with gaussian blur lineart + b&w hard brush + alpha lock airbrush + smudge. they're the oc pair i make the most suggestive art of but never anything more (if i'm any more explicit, what's the fun in that...) i struggled to draw their side portraits for almost an hour but they mean everything to me and i'd do anything for them so it's ok. i debated whether i wanted to add a thought bubble. i still don't know what my decision is so i'm sharing the version with it and if you want you can pretend it's not there. schrödinger's thought bubble. when they're intimate, i imagine sorin's thoughts are nowhere near similar to rias'. he's detached and lets his mind wander, whereas rias has a trainwreck of thoughts about the present moment.
